Below you will find information and links for the latest releases of all operating systems for each platform.
To reflash a device from an Android release ISO:
- Burn the ISO to a CD. (Windows) (Mac)
- Boot the computer from that CD.
- Reset the device (e.g. press the Reset button or remove the battery).
- When you first see the SDG logo screen, quickly press the Up button 3 times to enter the reflashing screen.
- Connect the device to the computer (which is now booted from the CD) via USB cable.
- Flashing will start automatically (you'll see a progress indicator and status messages on the device screen).
- The device will reboot when flashing is complete.
Note: SDG Android (AOSP) devices running Android 2.1 release "r2_p0" or later or Android 2.3 r1 or later have a built-in "Check for updates" option in Settings > About phone that allows OTA (over-the-air) updating to the latest release.
Android (AOSP) 2.3
Our Android (AOSP) 2.3 releases are available at no charge to existing customers. The upgrade to 2.3 includes performance improvements and enhancements to barcode scanning and RFID.
Improvements in this beta include:
- Many layout bugs were fixed throughout the OS, including the Phone app, USB settings, and Music app
- Battery capacity reporting is much more accurate (though still not perfect), making CW-20 much more usable
- Airplane mode now properly restarts the cellular connection
- SMS should work much better, particularly receiving SMS while the CW-20 is suspended
- Failover from WiFi to GSM and back now works

The beta5 build is available as an OTA update for devices currently running Android (AOSP) 2.3 beta1 or higher. To install, go to Settings > About phone > Check for updates.
Devices running a pre-release of Android (AOSP) 2.3 must be reflashed using the beta5 ISO image which can be found here. If you have not used an ISO to reflash your device before, please see reflashing instructions at the top of this page.
Improvements in the r10 release include:
- Support for BIP-6000-AF1 (1GB Flash support)
- Improvements in camera preview performance

Added support for GS1/EAN-128 barcodes
- Fixed an issue that could prevent a cellular data connection on devices with Cinterion PHS-8 modems
- Clock will fall back to NTP server if no date/time data is received from modem
- Other minor bug fixes

This is the initial release of Android 2.3 for the RAMPAGE 6.

Android (AOSP) 2.1
PIDION BIP-6000 - R2_P5 RELEASE
Improvements in this release include:
- Fixed an issue with memory timing.
- Fixed an issue with camera preview displaying incorrectly.

- Camera app now embeds GPS coordinates in photo EXIF data

- Fixed issue where the preview in the Nomad 800 Camera application would freeze after taking a picture
- The LED flash on the Nomad 900 now activates properly

Qt Extended 4
TRIMBLE NOMAD - QTEX 4.4.3 RELEASE 1.3.3
The Nomad Qtex-4.4.3-release-1.3.3 Release is now available for Download:

This is based on kernel 2.6.32.24, and it uses the UBIFS file system rather than JFFS2. You will notice better boot performance with UBIFS. You first need to install the latest bootloader release, which supports UBIFS, as follows:
sudo dfu-util -c 2 -a sdgboot -D sdgboot_nomad_v2045.sdg
When the flash of SDGBoot is successful, reboot the device by pressing the power button. You may then reflash the .sdg files in nomad-ang2007.12-qtextended4.4.3-release1.3.3.tgz in the usual way. Full release notes can be found here.
GPE/X11/QT4
